Ultraframe’s design options offer the ultimate in customisation

Wednesday 18th May 2005

In a market where there is little to differentiate between roof systems, leading conservatory roof manufacturer Ultraframe prides itself on its ability to provide a conservatory roof design to suit almost every home, every taste and every price point. With increasingly configurable roofing systems and an ever-growing range of design options and decorative add-ons, Ultraframe believes no two conservatories need ever be the same.

Linda Doughty, Marketing Director of Ultraframe, explained: “You only have to look at the emphasis that the TV schedules place on design to realise that there is a market for some new thinking in conservatory aesthetics. Recent market trends certainly reflect a new generation of consumers who consider home improvement to be a real investment in lifestyle, as well as the value of their house. Attractive design features and extras are no longer the sole domain of larger, complex and more expensive bespoke conservatories. Consumers are demanding innovation and design to maximise light and space on a smaller budget.”

A design configuration to suit every home
Ultraframe’s latest revolutionary roofing system, Sunroom, demonstrates just how much the company is determined to push the boundaries of conservatory design in response to the new generation of more demanding conservatory buyers.

Designed for maximum flexibility, Sunroom provides installers with an almost limitless number of ways in which to cover a conservatory footprint. The wide range of designs it offers includes “P” and “T” shapes, single and double ended, and floating or integral wrap around styles. Sunroom is available in standard footprints of up to 4750mm internal projection and up to 4000mm internal width, but can also be extended further by simply adding extra tie bars.

The roof’s unique design features the options of two widths of box gutter, slimline valleys and ’drop ridges’ allowing installers to create eye catching new shapes to complement virtually any home, while offering exemplary thermal performance with an impressive overall ‘U’ value of just 1.7 . This means customers have the ultimate in comfort and installers have the added assurance that Sunroom meets the expected building regulations on thermal performance.

Sunroom is available with 25mm polycarbonate, in one of five colours, or with the option of unglazed for 24mm glass sealed units. It features a sleeved invertabar with deep traditional proportions at 1000mm centres for a stylish, contemporary look.

For homeowners seeking a sleek conservatory extension, Elevation and Elevation Plus bring a new and uniquely contemporary interpretation to the lean-to roof. Like Sunroom, Elevation has BBA approval, features Clicklock™ technology for a speedy installation and benefits from unmatched thermal performance. The Clicklock installation system has been specifically designed to benefit both the installer and the consumer. It also ensures perfect structural integrity and each joint is designed to withstand the required performance of loads placed upon it. Only when the Clicklock components are all in place and accurately aligned will the joint fully engage.

Elevation has a fully variable pitch from 2 ˝ to 10 degrees and comes with the design option of light refracting hipped wings on Elevation Plus. At 750mm to 1000mm centres Elevation can free span up to 4000mm and 4800mm, making the roof perfect for domestic and commercial applications.

Whichever Ultraframe system they select, homeowners can also choose Ultraframe’s climate controlling Conservaglass, designed to prevent overheating in summer and keep the warmth in during the winter months, enabling them to use their conservatory all year round.

Ultraframe has recently announced the re-branding of its Victorian roof system, which will now be known as Ultraframe Classic. A host of innovative new features have been added, including a suite of PVC chambered top cappings, to maximise thermal efficiency to make the original and most trusted conservatory roof system on the market, even better. Available in a choice of two new sculpted designs, a geometric or a more rounded profile for a pleasing appearance, the PVC top cappings trap air in expertly designed air pockets to enhance thermal efficiency.

Cresting and Finials
To give even more choice to consumers Ultraframe also offers a range of crestings and finials. Sunroom is topped with a unique finial design with low profile ridge and optional clip-on cresting, whilst Ultraframe’s Classic system comes with a choice of five different crestings and four finials.

Ultraframe’s Pikestaff finial and Renaissance cresting for the Classic system simply snaps on for effortless installation. Each piece of cresting features a male and female end to allow for the cresting to ‘ slot-in’ to the wall, and offers a more secure fix from wall to finial.

Ancillaries to add a personal touch
Homeowners can personalise their conservatory even further with the new value added package on the Classic system. This inclusive package includes a choice of 22 Ultraselect decorative strip designs and a range of coloured foils.

Sunroom offers five exclusive Ultraselect strips for unmatched contemporary aesthetics. These strips simply click into the decorative fascia board underneath the eaves beam. It also includes a choice of attractive tie bars in a tradition rod and boss tie bar style, or a new sleeved brace for a unique modern look.

When a conservatory is not an option…
Even when a conservatory is not a viable option due to space or budget limitations, Ultraframe has a solution. Litespace, the fully glazed walk-in bay style extension, can be used to give homeowners extra space and light, and direct access to the garden. Litespace has internal dimensions of 2200mm wide by 1100mm projection, making it the ideal solution for replacing patio doors or French windows.

Linda Doughty concluded: “Ultraframe’s extensive product range means we can provide a roofing solution for virtually any home, plus with so many decorative options and add-ons, both internally and externally, homeowners can make their conservatory truly unique. Ultraframe installers are in a great position to meet the demands of all conservatory buyers by supplying distinctive and individual products without compromising on market leading quality, thermal efficiency and value for money. Ultraframe is committed to investing in research and development to continue to develop our roofing systems to offer even more unique styles and further expand the boundaries of configurability.”
